Extended Fantasy Narrative – Our Tower By Joseph Coelho.

Maths -Fractions, Money, Time, Shape & Statistics.

Science – Light – What is light? & Rocks – How can we classify Rocks?

History – Anglo Saxons/Vikings.

Geography – Settlements and names of cities.

RE – What does it mean to be part of a religion or worldview? Judaism & Where do religious ideas come from?

PSHE – Growing and Changing, First Aid and Healthy Lifestyles.

Art – Telling stories through drawing and making.

DT – Textiles - 2D/3D Product.

Computing – Desktop Publishing & Events in actions and programs.

Maths - Multiplication and Division, length and perimeter, fractions, mass and capacity.

Science – Forces and Magnets – How do Magnets work? & Plants – How does each part of the plant fulfil it’s function?

History – Romans.

Geography – Comparative European Study – Bay of Naples.

RE – What can of world do we want to live in? How do people talk about life after death?

PSHE – Healthy Lifestyles, Communication and Diversity.

Art – Working with Shape and Colour.  

DT – Mechanical systems – Pneumatics.

Computing – Sequencing Sounds & Branching Databases.

PE – Dance, Netball, Gymnastics & Hockey.

Music – Wider Opportunities – Learning a Brass Instrument.

Meet the teacher meeting - Monday 9th September 2024 - 3.45pm

An opportunity to meet with myself (Mrs Ailsby) and find out further information regarding Class 3, including routines and expectations. This meeting will be held on TEAMS and an invite will be sent out nearer to the time. 

Curriculum

English - Throughout the Autumn Term Class 3 will be exposed to many different text types and genres, writing for different purposes and audiences. Some of these include; Fiction - Historical narrative, Instructions, Performance poetry and Letter writing. 

Maths - Place value, Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division. 

Science - Animals Including Humans - How do the systems inside our body work to make a healthy human?

History - Stone Age - Iron Age.

Geography - UK - Regions and Landscapes of the UK. 

RE - How do religious and non religious people talk about God? How do people decide what they believe is right or wrong?

PSHE - Safety & Healthy Relationships.

Art - Gestural Drawings.

DT - Structures - Shell Structures. 

Computing - Connecting Computers & Stop Frame Animation. 

PE - Rugby & Football. 

Music - Peter and the Wolf & Stone Age.

MFL - J'apprends le francais (I am learning)

Individual homework linked to class learning will be sent on a homework grid for the half term.

I look forward to meeting you all and teaching each and every child. I am excited for a fantastic year in Class 3.
